San Marco Library Bioswale

The Coca Cola Company provided a grant to the St. Johns Riverkeeper to establish this sustainable demonstration project.   The bioswale at the San Marco Library filters runoff through a natural process prior to sending the water into the St. Johns River.

Envision worked in partnership with the St. Johns Riverkeeper and other local groups to design and build this project.  More information on the bioswale can be found here:

Two years after installation, the bioswale is effectively handling drainage, is low maintenance, and looks beautiful.  The swale features bald cypress, spartina grass, muhly grass, and dwarf yaupon holly.
